- Diane Chambers to Sam Malone, from this morning rerun of Cheers on StarTV.
When it comes to identification with TV characters, I would safely say that I could relate best to Diane, followed by Susan in Desperate Housewives, and Kak Engku/Raja Azura, in that order.
I've been told time and time again, in not so many words by friends, males and females, that "You're a Thinking Woman, they're Doing Women; so stop analysing and hesitating, ACT!"
Jeancumlately, a regular commentator on kickdefella's blog, too posed the same question: "Women are fast learners, right?"
Na'ah, I'm still slow ('bengap' according to N, an old girl friend who's a 'fast one').
Wonder what will make me run and jump into waiting cars, lorries, etc.?
Wonder how many 'over-analysers' are out there?
Wonder if they regret not being 'fast'?

just want to say a word of thank you for your well wishes. truly appreciate it.
let us all learn to appreciate our mothers when they are still around.
I concur with Jeancumlately. Women are fast learners. And they adapt, to the situation, fast also. Look how mothers and wives learned new recipes because their men loves those. In our daily lives, women go great length to learn new things and improve existing skills, to please their men.
Otherwise, who'd tolerate men?
Men don't tolerate other men. Really. Most just want to maintain their macho-ness and gentleman-hood by pretending, they are alright with it. Inside, they are not.
Thats why, conveniently men resolve issues with the medium of clenched fist. At bigger scale, the send in the Marines!
Why I say women learned to adapt to any circumstances, better? One simple narrow perspective, polygamy. Its been practiced by many cultures, across too many period. Yes, modern women detest polygamy. But when they are in it, most will learn to live with and around it.
What if men are put in that place? Women practice polygamy, how will men react? It's hell break loose!
That's probably why the wisdom God do not put men to be polygamy-ised. Men, especially their ego, will not able to take it.
Borrowing the words of CAG to Lt. Peter "Maverick" Mitchell, played by Tom Cruise in "Top Gun". "Son, you ego write check, your body can't catch"
"For thirteen weeks, you'll be flying with the best. If you screw up, just this much, you'll be flying cargo planes with rubber dog-shit out of Hong Kong!"
Hey, u're most welcome.
Hope u're taking it in stride, mate.
It took me many, many months to get over my mother's passing; whenever I missed her, I would smell her scent in her clothes that I still keep in my closet.
Take care, you.
Hey, bigdog, I really like your 'take' on men and appreciation of women.
Now, which tv/movie character do you best relate to?
I have a lot of Norman Peterson (Cheers) and some Chandler Bing (Friends) in me.
I did accountancy. I am lazy. I somewhat like the concept sit around drinking all day long. I appreciate my wife and I show my appreciation by actually minimising time with her (I'll get on her nerves, too much me around!) - just like Norm.
I am a natural klutz. I am this really uncouth and totally unmacho thingy, when I am infront women (especially pretty ones!). I am not shameful to admit that and I conveniently shoot myself in the foot, for all the wrong reasons - just like Chandler.
Well, that's an honest appraisal, alright.
Now, you don't happen to have Chadler's 'nubben', do you?
